I get along without you very well,
Of course I do;
Except when soft rains fall and drip from leaves,
Then I recall the thrill of being sheltered in your arms,
Of course I do.
But I get along without you very well.
I've forgotten you, just like I should,
Of course I have;
Except to hear your name
Or someone's laugh that is the same.
But I've forgotten you just like I should,
What a guy!
What a fool am I to think my breaking heart
Could kid the moon.
What's in store?
Should I 'phone once more?
No it's best that I stick to my tune.
I get along without you very well,
Of course I do;
Except perhaps in spring,
But I should never think of spring
For that would surely break my heart in two.

Distrust
I could walk you home
as if you were
a little boy,
lost in the dark.
At your door
I would let go of your hand
slowly
-my heart crumbling-
Once you’d get inside
so warm and calm
you would never let me in,
you would let me freeze to death.
(Pino Montalvo)

I died for beauty
I died for beauty, but was scarce
Adjusted in the tomb,
When one who died for truth was lain
In an adjoining room.
He questioned softly why I failed?
"For beauty," I replied.
"And I for truth - the two are one;
We brethren are," he said.
And so, as kinsmen met a-night,
We talked between the rooms,
Until the moss had reached our lips,
And covered up our names.

Father
Will you hold my hand
when night falls on me?
Will you, father?
Will you look for me
and bring me home?
Will you dry my eyes?
Will you sing to me?
Oh father,
What made you think
I didn´t need you anymore?

After you
Full moon shinning on the snow
Soft light on my hands
The air – quietly –
Freezing my heart
After you
Snow and silence.

The boy
He looked at his feet all day
wondering if he would use them
after death.
His little feet went pale.
He looked at the window and said:
I´ll fly away to leave my bed

Unloved
I wanted his heart
To bleed on mine
– week and thirsty –
I wanted him
To hurt me
And die for me
I wanted him
I wanted me in him!
(How could I know then,
He wasn’t the one
To love me
But the one
To be loved?)

Hunger
A man hurt me
The other night
I allowed him to do it
– again –
He was gentle before love
He was gentle during love
He was not gentle after love
(Hunger of men,
some feed from our body
others, from our heart)

There is a light
There is a light
behind the light we see
a brighter one
mother of all stars
Tenderly
blows the ashes away
keeps our heart
warm and calm
There is a light
behind the light we see
always forgiving
when we need to be forgiven
always healing
when we need to be healed
